Senior Backend Engineer, Decisions Alliance (m/f/x)

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be a key player in ensuring seamless communication with millions of HelloFresh customers. You will design, implement, and maintain robust, high-performance distributed systems to support effective customer engagement at scale, creating reliable solutions for executing global campaigns. Collaboration with frontend engineers, product managers, and global teams is essential, requiring strong communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Work within a cross-functional team (6-10 people) using diverse technologies and frameworks, where your opinions are valued and impact is significant.
• Take ownership of the architecture, design, development, deployment, and operations of microservices, utilizing DevOps practices and pair programming.
• Actively participate in autonomous, cross-functional agile teams, collaborating with product owners, frontend engineers, data engineers, and business intelligence teams.
• Understand HelloFresh's core product and architecture deeply, offering support and mentorship to colleagues as a software solutions ambassador.
• Utilize state-of-the-art technologies like Kafka, RabbitMQ, Spark, Kubernetes, and Istio.

Requirements:

• Expertise in end-to-end Python development, including unit, integration, and functional testing, application tuning/profiling, and continuous integration.
• Solid backend experience with event-driven microservices architecture using Kubernetes, RabbitMQ, Kafka, and CQRS patterns.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and object stores (e.g., AWS S3).
• Demonstrable experience with agile methodologies, emphasizing delivery, lean thinking, and quick iterations.
• A commitment to continuous self-development and peer learning.
• Ability to collaborate, mentor team members, and share practical knowledge.

Nice to Have:

• Experience integrating marketing vendors like Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze, and HubSpot.
• Familiarity with notification services like AWS SNS.
