Senior QA Engineer

Join Roku, the #1 TV streaming platform, and contribute to changing how the world watches TV. As a key member of our team, you'll develop software for Roku consumer products, focusing on platform-level features between device hardware and the operating system. This role involves a variety of tasks, from hardware drivers to user-facing UI features, supporting all Roku Players platforms. You'll work in a distributed environment, collaborating with team members across different continents and time zones to develop high-quality software. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and supporting embedded software systems for Roku OS. You'll work on new technologies and develop new capabilities while maintaining clean and performant code, collaborating with product managers, QA, and other development teams, as well as external hardware component vendors.

Key responsibilities:

• Take full ownership of QA responsibilities for assigned features.
• Proficient in Python automation.
• Experienced with BDD frameworks.
• Create comprehensive test plans and strategies.
• Engage in hands-on manual testing.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to estimate testing efforts.

Nice-to-have skills:

• Strong understanding of QA methodologies.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Solid understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Shift Left testing.
