Product Developer - Scaling & Commercialization

We are seeking a Product Developer to facilitate the transition of recipes from concept to commercial production for Factor, our healthy, ready-to-heat meal delivery service. As a Food Manufacturing expert within the Commercialization team, you will bridge the gap between product development and kitchen operations. Your responsibilities include observing, documenting, and resolving production challenges, while also creating long-term solutions to improve quality, efficiency, and yield. You will play a key role in the weekly launches of new Factor meals, utilizing your expertise and data-driven insights to make informed decisions and improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Drive rapid iteration and process improvement by observing production, documenting challenges, and implementing solutions to improve efficiency, yield, and product quality.
• Scale and optimize recipes for production, ensuring quality standards are met. Lead ingredient organization, equipment planning, and sensory testing.
• Support quality and operational excellence by testing and validating methods, collaborating with various teams, and using data to refine processes.
• Collaborate with co-manufacturing partners to align processes with Factor standards and ensure scalability across facilities.
• Identify areas for operational and equipment optimization, conduct capacity studies, and recommend new equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Degree or diploma in culinary arts, culinary science, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in food R&D, food manufacturing, or large-scale restaurant/catering operations.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
• Strong process-driven mindset with a passion for developing scalable systems.
• Comfortable with ambiguity, autonomous problem-solving, and rapid iteration.
