Senior Data Engineer

As a Senior Data Engineer on Mozilla's Analytics Engineering team, you'll design data models and improve our data platform. You will collaborate with data scientists to guide product decisions, maintain scalable ETL pipelines, and improve data infrastructure for processing terabytes of data daily. You'll also design systems to monitor data from Mozilla’s products and establish best practices for data governance, ensuring compliance and security.

What you’ll do:
* Design data models in collaboration with data scientists.
* Maintain scalable data models and ETL pipelines.
* Improve infrastructure for data ingestion, storage, and transformation.
* Design and build systems for monitoring and analyzing data.
* Establish data governance best practices.

What you’ll bring:
* 3+ years of data engineering experience.
* Proficiency in SQL and Python.
* Experience designing data models for business analysis.
* Strong software engineering fundamentals.
* Collaborative with strong communication skills.
* Proficiency in one or more of the following areas:
* Using data to guide decisions.
* Data model design and implementation.
* Recommending/implementing new data collection.
* Data infrastructure (databases, message queues, batch and stream processing).
* Building modular ETL/ELT pipelines.
* Experience with cloud providers (e.g., Google Cloud Platform).
