We are seeking a meticulous and technically proficient Product QA Engineer II to join our Automation Team, based in Charlestown, MA. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and safety of our automated kitchen systems, known as the Infinite Kitchen. This role involves working closely with software engineers and designers to thoroughly understand our systems, test new features, meticulously document product specifications and expected behaviors, and proactively identify inconsistencies. You will be the vital link between development and deployment, guaranteeing that specifications are accurately implemented and that the final product functions flawlessly.

Responsibilities:

  • System Validation: Rigorously test our robotics system and digital products that power the Infinite Kitchen, ensuring reliable startup, meal assembly, and performance under peak loads.
  • Interface Testing: Validate functionality across multiple iPad applications used by store team members, including remote control and order management tools.
  • QA Workflow Management: Develop and execute structured test plans to ensure comprehensive vetting of new features and changes before production.
  • Tracking and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of bugs, edge cases, and unexpected behaviors. Manage and update product specifications and documentation.
  • Release Support: Actively participate in release cycles, testing new builds in staging, validating in our office lab, and contributing to go/no-go decisions.
  • Rotational Support: Participate in on-call support for restaurants (three days, five times a year).
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to understand system nuances and constraints. Partner with product managers to align test coverage with product specs and user experience.
  • Product Quality Champion: Uphold high standards for end-to-end reliability and clarity.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in QA, technical product support, or systems testing.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Comfort managing complex systems with many edge cases.
  • Ability to interpret engineering and product specs and create effective test plans.
  • Clear and structured communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Familiarity with QA practices (manual, exploratory testing, bug reporting).
  • Curiosity-driven mindset and tenacity for troubleshooting.

Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to robotics, industrial automation, or mechatronic systems.
  • Experience with Jira or similar tools.
  • Interest in product management, systems thinking, or operations design.
